Bazil’s Metro Adventure – From Victoria Cross to Sydenham

Victoria Cross Metro Station
Bazil at Victoria Cross Metro Station

Yesterday, after enjoying a wonderful lunch by the water at The Boathouse, Balmoral Beach, I decided it was the perfect opportunity to experience another side of Sydney, travelling on the Metro.

From Victoria Cross Station, I boarded one of Sydney’s new Metro trains, and I have to say, I was impressed from the moment I arrived. The station is bright, spacious and incredibly modern, with clear signage and a clean, welcoming atmosphere.

The train arrived within minutes and glided into the platform almost silently. Stepping aboard, I immediately noticed how spacious and comfortable it was. The open walk-through design, wide doors and air-conditioned carriages made the journey feel relaxed and enjoyable, while everything was spotless and exceptionally well maintained.

As we travelled beneath the city and out towards Sydenham, I couldn’t help but notice just how smooth and fast the journey was. It was hard to believe how quickly we covered the distance. With no traffic to worry about and trains running so frequently, travelling across the city felt effortless.

One of the things I enjoyed most was simply sitting back and watching the journey unfold. Sometimes it’s nice to leave the car behind and appreciate just how good public transport can be.

The Sydney Metro is a fantastic addition to the city’s transport network. It’s modern, reliable, comfortable and incredibly easy to use, whether you’re commuting to work, heading out for the day or simply exploring somewhere new.

After a relaxing lunch overlooking Balmoral Beach, finishing the afternoon with a ride on one of the world’s most advanced metro systems was the perfect way to round off the day.

If you haven’t travelled on the Sydney Metro yet, I’d certainly recommend giving it a try. You might be as pleasantly surprised as I was.

Until the next adventure,

Bazil Enjoys a Sunny Winter’s Day at Balmoral Beach

The Boatshed Balmoral Beach
Bazil Enjoys a Sunny Winter’s Day at Balmoral Beach

Today, I made the most of one of Sydney’s glorious winter days with a visit to the beautiful The Boathouse at Balmoral Beach —and what a perfect day it turned out to be.

The winter sunshine was out in full force, the sky was a brilliant blue, and the calm waters of Middle Harbour sparkled in the afternoon light. It was one of those days that reminds you just how lucky we are to enjoy Sydney’s spectacular harbour all year round.

After finding a table by the water at The Boathouse, I settled in for a leisurely lunch while watching all the water activity. The relaxed atmosphere was contagious, with families, friends and visitors all soaking up the sunshine.

For those feeling a little more adventurous, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and boats were available to hire right there, offering the perfect opportunity to explore the sheltered waters at your own pace. Others enjoyed a stroll along the foreshore, relaxed on the grassy reserve or simply sat with a coffee, taking in the stunning harbour views.

Balmoral Beach has a wonderful way of slowing life down. Whether you’re sharing a meal with friends, exploring the water or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings, it’s the perfect destination for a relaxing day out.

Days like today are exactly why I love discovering the simple pleasures that make Sydney so special. You don’t need to travel far to experience beautiful scenery, delicious food and memorable moments.

If you’re looking for a winter outing, put The Boathouse at Balmoral Beach on your list. Enjoy a leisurely lunch by the water, hire a kayak or paddleboard, or simply sit back and watch the boats drift across the harbour. It’s a slice of Sydney at its very best.
