Meet Bazil: A Journey of Love, Comfort, and New Adventures

Hi, I’m Bazil! I’ve been a loyal companion, bringing love, joy, and comfort to my family since around 1995. My story began when I was adopted to provide warmth to a delightful son and a gorgeous daughter who visited their daddy every fortnight. I watched them grow from children into teenagers, always offering my soft presence as a source of comfort. After a decade, daddy met and married a beautiful, loving lady who became my mummy, and I finally got to experience a mother’s touch.

With her loving care, I took pride in welcoming my brother and sister every time they visited, always placed carefully on the bed, waiting for their arrival. But as the years went by, the visits grew fewer and further apart. Eventually, they finished high school, and I was packed into a box by professional removalists for a new chapter—moving across the country from the East Coast of Australia to the West Coast, to my new home there, a journey of 3,620 km.

Once relocated, mummy lovingly placed me on the bed once more, where I patiently waited for my brother and sister. Over the years, they visited a couple of times, but life carried them in different directions, and soon, it had been 10 years since I last saw them. Daddy and mummy took my brother and his girlfriend to Bali, but I stayed behind.

Then, one day, mummy said something that changed everything: “Right, Bazil, you’re retired, and now you’re coming travelling with me.” I was overjoyed! Finally, it was my turn to explore the world.

Since then, I’ve been to Bali and many other exciting places, soaking up new experiences and creating memories everywhere I go. Along the way, I’ll also be sharing my best travelling tips with you—from how to make the most of each adventure to overcoming the unexpected challenges of life on the road.

Now, as a retired traveller, I’m documenting all my new adventures for you. Through these travels, I hope to keep spreading the warmth and comfort I’ve always known, and most importantly, bring a smile to your face and warmth to your heart. My mummy has taught me that the best adventures are the ones we share, and I hope to make her proud.

Join me as I explore the world, one adventure (and one tip) at a time!
